My MA project was to develop a handwriting system that could have a 100% successful recognition by OCR (Optical Character Recognition). With the grid you are able to write all the characters uppercase, lowercase and numerals. This enables OCR
software to be able to recognise the letter forms. This grid is useful when writing postcodes on envelopes.
